While it seems to be a contradiction in terms, a combination of “expansion and contraction” characteristics are defining and shaping BI as business moves through 2008 and toward 2009. Aberdeen Group’s Business Intelligence research practice has benchmarked the performance of over 3,600 companies in the past year who are seeking to expand the use of BI to more users and address more data while simultaneously wanting to contract the time and effort required.
