BPM provider Interneer is shipping a major update to its Interneer Intellect web-based integrated solution for workflow and BPM. Interneer Intellect 7 sports some 50 new and updated features to support code-free and easy deployment of workflows and business process tasks that will run seamlessly across on-premise, cloud, SaaS and mobile.
“Our customers have limited resources in IT and they want to use their resources to improve the business, so our goal is to continue to make BPM and workflows easy while also allowing speed and agility,” Interneer CEO Romeo Elias told IDN.
“Interneer Intellect 7 is designed for mobility, connectivity, and agility. This release extends the platform to enable the business user to develop mobile apps without any programming, unlocking new possibilities that far surpass anything available in the market today.”
Interneer also released Intellect MobileApps, a drag-and-drop platform that aims to simplify how mobile apps for iPad get built and deployed. Intellect MobileApps does not require programming or added mobile skills, Elias said.
“With Interneer Intellect 7, business users in small businesses to large enterprises can benefit from the power of cloud applications and mobile apps to connect and improve business processes throughout the enterprise,” he added.

There is an increasing customer demand to bring BPM functionality to cloud-based SaaS apps. Elias said. “We’re hearing from customers that their app on the cloud needs workflow. They want to get their forms and data to guide processes for their cloud apps. But, they also need that integration to be simple and automated as much as possible. Easy integration of process with cloud and mobile apps opens up a whole new area.”
He pointed to a use case example: More companies are using a combination of online forms, on-premise data and cloud services to handle credit requests. “Our latest version of Interneer Intellect can build a workflow with data and forms in thirty minutes [for] those credit requests that need to be processed routed for approval and they do that because they want everything on the cloud,” he said.
Interneer’s ability to integrate at all three levels can support even more ambitious end-to-end BPM apps, Elias said. “We now have the ability to let a customer assemble a CRM app in the mobile section and fully integrate it with their backend data,” he said.
Interneer Intellect 7 lets users model, automate and manage their business processes and workflow apps – all without any programming at any stage of the lifecycle – from initial design to deployment, Elias said. This code-free capability comes thanks to Interneer’s three-layer architecture.
Under the covers, Interneer’s application architecture is divided into layers for (1) user interface, (2) business logic and (3) data access. This multi-layer architecture provides a flexible component-based structure optimized for web apps, and integrating with cloud, mobile and even on-premise resources, Elias said. Interneer’s intelligent application partitioning, modular and reusable components, scalability, and open and interoperable access to third-party applications architecture also ensures end-to-end BPM and workflows will comply with SLAs, he added.
Once processes are defined and established, Interneer Intellect 7 intuitively tracks and monitors progress on a central dashboard, creating a single, central place to manage processes and workflows; executive dashboard views enable management to easily identify late work, pending approval, and better allocate resources, Elias said.

To support mobility, Interneet Intellect MobileApps lets non-technical business users easily automate processes, such as submit expense reports, create contracts and proposals, or submit vacation requests and perform these processes/tasks with an iPad. Users can also create templates, collaborate on documents, integrate forms, databases, create reports, along with other tasks, he added.
For mobility, authentication and security features are already available as they are built in to Interneer’s platform, which supports security from the server. “Users can set up access controls, rules and so forth for all their field workers and mobile users,” Elias said. “In addition, our Mobile View feature lets admins select what fields to show to what users and have them laid out the way they want them to look. This means I can use drag-and-drop templates that will show me my reports, without the need for any native coding.”
One hotel chain used Interneer Intellect MobileApps to set up a “mobile view” of many key operations, which lets the company define what data can be displayed. Interneer optimizes the data and forms to fit the screen size of each device. It also allows users to review and approve work activities in the field; capture data in the field; manage documents and run reports; ensure task lists are completed; and access built-in device features (camera, GPS, etc.).
Interneer Intellect 7 is available through SaaS per-seat licensing or it can be installed on premise.
